La Marzocco blind basket (L115/C)

Original La Marzocco blind basket for backflushing the brewing group.

With every shot, coffee oils and fine coffee residue build up in the brew group – on the shower screen, on the portafilter gasket and in the area behind the brew group up to the 3-way solenoid valve. Over time these residues become old and can noticeably affect the taste of your espresso. They can also clog the shower screen and narrow passages and interfere with the function of the 3-way solenoid valve.

To clean the brew group, it is backflushed: instead of the normal filter basket, put the blind basket into the portafilter, lock it in and start a shot. Because the water cannot drain, pressure builds up. When you stop the shot, the water is released through the 3-way solenoid valve and carries the residue away. Repeat this a few times.

La Marzocco machines with app access have a corresponding cleaning program for this.

For a thorough cleaning, add a little coffee grease remover such as Puly Caff (F.9.021) to the blind basket. It also dissolves stubborn oils. Then rinse with clean water so that no cleaner remains in the brew group.

Suitable for all La Marzocco portafilters.
