A La Marzocco is built to last for decades – if it is well looked after. That is exactly what I take care of in my workshop in 82538 Geretsried, south of Munich: maintenance, repair and descaling of La Marzocco home and commercial machines.
I work by appointment only. When your machine arrives, I get started right away. It does not sit around for weeks, it is usually back with you quickly – and you do not have to go without your coffee for long.
Tip: A planned service fits nicely into your holiday or your café’s closing period. Drop the machine off before you leave and pick it up freshly serviced when you are back.
What I take care of
- Maintenance: small and large service, so your machine runs reliably and small problems ideally never become big ones
- Repair: when something does drip, stick or stop heating
- Descaling: as far as necessary – more on this in the next section
- Modifications and extras: needle valve kits, powder coating and accessories
Limescale – your machine’s worst enemy
I descale exactly what is necessary: from a single scaled component to the steam boiler to the complete machine. Often the steam boiler alone is enough. There, I first remove loose particles from the boiler and then descale the heating element and the boiler separately.
Very important: Never use a flow-through descaling method on a La Marzocco. It can loosen limescale particles that are flushed through the machine, settle in narrow passages and block them. The repair afterwards can be far more involved than proper descaling. Acid that is too aggressive can also damage the pump: it can attack surfaces inside the pump, and particles from those can end up in the machine as well. That is why flow-through descaling is out of the question for me.
Limescale often first makes itself felt quietly: the machine may take longer to heat up and reheat more often. Over time, this can shorten the service life of the heating element. Limescale can also block the gicleur, the heat exchanger, the solenoid valves or the mixing valves, and with heavy scaling the pipes as well.
Maintenance and repair for these machines
Home machines: Linea Micra, Linea Mini, Linea Mini R, GS3
Commercial machines: all La Marzocco commercial machines including Modbar
Grinders: La Marzocco Pico, Jay and Swan. Mahlkönig grinders on request.
Why only La Marzocco? At heart, all espresso machines work in a similar way. Even so, every manufacturer has its own quirks and subtleties. I have been working on La Marzocco machines since 2016 and have built up a great deal of knowledge over that time – and your machine benefits from it. That is why I do not repair E61 machines or espresso machines from other manufacturers.
On top of that, I make a point of keeping everything that is needed regularly in stock. When I notice that a component is needed again and again, I stock up on it. Smaller jobs in particular, such as replacing a heating element or a mainboard, should be quick: take the part from stock, fit it, done – without waiting days for a delivery. If I also looked after other brands, I could no longer offer this.

Working on La Marzocco machines since 2016
It all started in 2016 with modifications to my own Linea Mini. Since August 2023 I have been an official La Marzocco spare parts dealer.
Since 2024 I have been servicing machines on behalf of La Marzocco Germany: more than 100 machines have already been with me for repair or service. Machines in the Munich area that were bought directly from La Marzocco Germany come to me under warranty – without shipping by freight forwarder or post.
Do you have a Linea Micra?
The Linea Micra is sold exclusively through La Marzocco direct sales. I have an agreement with La Marzocco: I can take machines bought online into my service portfolio. I am then your direct contact for warranty cases.
