The new models do have a setting that is similar to a PI, but its function is far from exploiting the machine&#039;s potential.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">New in the version for the Linea Mini R:<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Installation is very simple. To mount it, you only need to loosen two screws on the machine and then integrate the pre-assembled kit.<\/li>\r\n<li>After installing the kit, the integrated \u201cPre Brew\u201d function must be deactivated in the app as it is no longer available.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">My renovation<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I am using the experience from my own project and the feedback from the needle valve kit for the Linea Mini and Linea Micra as the basis for this conversion kit for the Linea Mini R. This uses a needle valve to influence the flow rate during PI. The valve is located directly in front of the brewing group, so that changes in the flow rate have an immediate effect. The conversion converts the \u201cfake paddle\u201d into a fully-fledged paddle. The pre-infusion position is in the middle position. The water must flow through the needle valve here so that the flow rate is reduced to the set value. Both the duration of the pre-infusion and the flow rate can be freely selected. After the pre-infusion, the paddle is pushed further to the left. The valve switches and the regular flow rate and pump pressure act on the puck. Optionally, the flow rate can also be changed here by using a different gicleur.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What advantages does the conversion have?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Due to the low flow rate during pre-infusion, we achieve that the puck is saturated slowly and with almost no effect of the pump pressure. This is comparable to the so-called blooming of filter coffee. This makes the extraction more consistent and reduces the susceptibility to channeling. The conversion also allows us to adjust two additional variables. The flow rate and duration. For example, we can grind finer if we extend the duration of the pre-infusion. The big advantage of the two-stage system is reproducibility. Once you have found the right settings for a variety, you can easily reproduce the covers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What is included in the kit?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list\">\r\n<li>fully assembled wiring harness<\/li>\r\n<li>all required hydraulic components and fittings<\/li>\r\n<li>sufficient Teflon hose<\/li>\r\n<li>a stainless steel bracket for the paddle mechanism<\/li>\r\n<li>detailed assembly instructions in German and English<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What do you need to carry out the conversion?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The conversion can be carried out very easily by anyone. I like to compare it to building a shelf. You need some time, desire and the right tools. If you carry out all the steps in the right order, that&#039;s half the battle. <br \/>Required tools &amp; material<\/p>\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list\">\r\n<li>a set of screwdrivers<\/li>\r\n<li>a set of open-end wrenches<\/li>\r\n<li>Liquid sealant for sealing hydraulic components.<\/li>\r\n<li>If necessary, an electrician for the electrical connection of the wiring harness if you are not familiar with the subject.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">How long does installation take?<\/h4>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>The time required for the assembly of the kit is 1 to 2 hours for an experienced mechanic. Inexperienced mechanics should calculate an afternoon. Added to this is the drying time for the liquid sealant.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What do I do if I don&#039;t get anywhere despite detailed instructions?<\/h4>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>So far everyone has been able to complete the conversion successfully.
