It only has one problem at the factory: the paddle only functions as an on\/off switch on models up to the end of 2019. The new models have a setting that is similar to a PI, but in terms of function it does not utilize the machine&#039;s potential by far.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">New in version 2.0:<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Drilling is no longer necessary. All required mounting points are now prepared in the holder.<\/li>\r\n<li>Even more detailed installation instructions. I have supplemented the instructions based on the feedback from previous happy customers.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">My renovation<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I use the experience from my own construction project and have developed a conversion kit for the Linea Mini. This uses a needle valve to influence the flow rate during PI. The valve is located directly in front of the brewing group, so that changes in the flow rate have an immediate impact. The conversion converts the \u201cfake paddle\u201d into a fully-fledged paddle. The pre-infusion position is in the middle position. There the water must flow through the needle valve so that the flow rate is reduced to the set value. Both the duration of the pre-infusion and the flow rate can be freely selected. Following the pre-infusion, the paddle is pushed further to the left. The valve switches and the regular flow rate and pump pressure act on the puck. Optionally, the flow rate can also be reduced here by using a 0.6mm Gicleur.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis: 4%;\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 2vh;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">Extension to display the brewing pressure:<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>With this extension, the existing pressure gauge is connected directly behind the brewing group so that the influence of the needle valve becomes visible.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You can see how it works in this video:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" src=\"https:\/\/grafikus-coffeetec.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Grafikus-LMLM-Nadelventil-Manometer-1.mp4\" controls=\"controls\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"><\/video><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What advantages does the conversion have?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Due to the low flow rate during pre-infusion, we achieve that the puck is saturated slowly and with almost no effect of the pump pressure. This is comparable to the so-called blooming of filter coffee. This makes the extraction more consistent and reduces the susceptibility to channeling. The conversion also allows us to adjust two additional variables. The flow rate and duration. For example, we can grind finer if we extend the duration of the pre-infusion. The big advantage of the two-stage system is reproducibility. Once you have found the right settings for a variety, you can easily reproduce the covers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What is included in the kit?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list\">\r\n<li>fully assembled wiring harness<\/li>\r\n<li>all required hydraulic components and fittings<\/li>\r\n<li>sufficient Teflon hose<\/li>\r\n<li>a milled holder for the paddle mechanism<\/li>\r\n<li>detailed assembly instructions in German and English<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What do you need to carry out the conversion?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The conversion can be carried out very easily by anyone. I like to compare it to building a shelf. You need some time, desire and the right tools. If you carry out all the steps in the right order, that&#039;s half the battle. <br \/>Required tools &amp; material<\/p>\r\n<ul class=\"nm-block-list\">\r\n<li>a set of screwdrivers<\/li>\r\n<li>a set of open-end wrenches<\/li>\r\n<li>Liquid sealant for sealing hydraulic components.<\/li>\r\n<li>If necessary, an electrician for the electrical connection of the wiring harness if you are not familiar with the subject.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">How long does installation take?<\/h4>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>The time required to simply assemble the kit is 2 to 3 hours for an experienced screwdriver. Inexperienced mechanics should plan on an afternoon. Added to this is the drying time of each liquid sealant.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h4 class=\"nm-block-heading wp-block-heading\">What do I do if I don&#039;t get anywhere despite detailed instructions?<\/h4>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>So far everyone has been able to complete the conversion successfully.
